The short version
Some links on Japanese Unscripted are affiliate links. If you click one and sign up or make a purchase, I may earn a commission. This costs you nothing extra. It does not change what I recommend or what I say about it.
The longer version
Running this site takes time. Affiliate commissions are how it pays for itself. I think it is better to say that plainly than to pretend otherwise.
Here is how I handle it.
Disclosure appears on every page that contains affiliate links. You will find it near the top of the article, before the first link. You should never have to hunt for it.
I only link to services I would describe the same way if there were no commission involved. That includes saying when a service is a poor fit for a particular reader. If a comparison article does not tell you who should skip a service, it is not a useful comparison.
Commission rates do not determine ranking. I do not order recommendations by what pays best. Where a service I cannot earn from is the better fit, I say so and link to it normally.
Not every link is an affiliate link. Most links on this site are ordinary links to sources, documentation, and reference material. I earn nothing from those.

That is the full list. Other services covered on this site are linked normally, with no commission to me, either because no affiliate programme exists or because I am not part of it. If that changes, this page changes with it.
About reader credits
Where a partner offers a credit or bonus to readers who sign up through my link, I describe it exactly as the partner states it, including the conditions attached to it. I do not promise outcomes the partner has not committed to.
Disclosure standards
I follow the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising, which require that a material connection between a publisher and a seller be disclosed clearly and conspicuously. I also follow the disclosure requirements of the affiliate programmes I take part in.
